The Long Term Effects of COVID-19

Are you experiencing long term effects from the virus that causes COVID-19? Long COVID or Post-COVID Conditions (PCC) is broadly defined as the signs, symptoms, and conditions that continue or develop after an acute COVID-19 infection.
Management and treatment of long COVID depends on your overall health and the severity of your symptoms, but some management and treatment options might include:

  • Medication –– Some symptoms that can be treated with medications include cough, headaches, anxiety and depression.
  • Olfactory Retraining –– Treatments to try and bring back your sense of smell and taste.
  • Lifestyle Alteration –– Incorporating exercise, massage, and physical therapy to help with pain or movement issues.
  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation –– An exercise and education program to help you manage breathing issues.
  • Counseling –– Mental health and someone to talk to can help with the psychological effects of a severe and long-term illness.

Talk with your primary care provider about long COVID and if you have any lasting symptoms from the virus.

COVID-19 Rapid Testing

Synergy Health 360 uses diagnostic testing for COVID-19. The result of your test can typically be received within 24hrs, but sometimes longer if there is a high volume of testing being conducted in the community.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

Synergy Health 360 is now offering the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, and this is available by appointment for all patients and family members that are 18 years of age or older. This vaccine is 100% effective at preventing hospitalization if you are exposed to COVID-19 infection, and boosting your immune response is highly effective (>90%) at preventing symptomatic infection for up to 6 months.

There is also a very low risk of any severe allergic reaction (3.5 cases per 1 million injections), but possible side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine do include:

  • Pain, redness, swelling at injection site
  • Tiredness
  • Headache and/or muscle aches
  • Fever, chills
  • Nausea

Before You Arrive

For the safety of all our patients and staff, you will be required to wear a mask during your appointment. When calling to schedule COVID-19 testing, we will need to walk through some initial questions to better understand your current symptoms and level of risk. We may also conduct the test outside of the clinic, so please be prepared to remain in your car if needed.

Please bring your current insurance information and let us know if you need testing before returning to work or school, as you may need to be tested a second time.

The vaccine is administered free of charge in the privacy of our clinical practice, but any services received in addition to this appointment may be subject to cash or co-pay based on your insurance. And note that you will need to remain for a minimum of 15min after the shot is administered for observation.

Same Day Appointments

Synergy Health 360 can typically accommodate a same day appointment for COVID-19 testing, but please contact as soon as possible and early in the day to ensure we can accommodate your schedule. Please note that while we do use rapid testing, we may or may not be able to share the results the same day if there is a high volume of testing being conducted in our area.

The general rule is to know the date when you might have been exposed, and the circumstances surrounding the event. This will be important to share during your appointment.

Telehealth Due to COVID-19

Your health and the health of our staff is our highest priority. Due to the nature of our clinical operations, we see many patients for viral cold and flu symptoms. Out of an abundance of concern for your health and others, we may need to manage your routine appointments with our telehealth solutions if you are concerned about in person appointments – or if a member of your family has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days.
